The first phase saw 19 buses delivered to women’s universities. CM Maryam Nawaz visited students, got a bouquet, and invited them on stage during the inaugural event. As part of the program’s inauguration, she handed the bus keys to the principals of nineteen women’s universities.

The Chief Minister also checked the buses and looked over a proposal for air-conditioned ones. Dr. Farrukh Naveed, Secretary of Higher Education, informed the CM on the project, saying 76 buses would be dispersed around Punjab in three phases.

The first phase concentrated on delivering buses to 19 tehsils in demand of transportation services, including Bhakkar, Sialkot, Chiniot, Kamalia, Hasilpur, Malakwal, and others.

By February 2025, buses will be delivered to female colleges in Nowshera Virkan, Dina, Yazman, Pindi Bhattian, and other areas in the second phase. Additionally included in this phase are Sohawa Girls Colleges, Isa Khel, Raiwind, and Allama Iqbal Town in Lahore.

Scheduled for March-April 2025, the third phase will see an extra 34 buses and coaches dispersed throughout 35 tehsils. Important political figures like Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, and Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat were present at the ceremony with the Chief Minister. Other prominent guests were several authorities and Punjab’s Chief Secretary.

By tackling transportation problems in underdeveloped parts of Punjab, this initiative seeks to improve educational possibilities for women.
