PSL Schedule- PCB Announces Schedule For PSL 7 2022
The Pakistan Cricket Board’s marquee event, the Pakistan Super League 2022, kicked off the countdown on Friday with the announcement of the PSL schedule for the seventh edition of one of the most popular and competitive cricket leagues in the world, the Pakistan Super League.
Immediately following the opening ceremony, the defending champions Multan Sultans will square off against the hosts and 2020 champions Karachi Kings at the National Stadium, with the first ball scheduled to be bowled at 7 p.m. Friday, the 2019 champions Quetta Gladiators will square off against the 2017 champions Peshawar Zalmi in the second match of the season.
At 2 pm PKT on Saturday, the Multan Sultans will face the Lahore Qalandars, who finished second in the 2020 edition of the tournament. The match will be followed by a match between the Karachi Kings and the Quetta Gladiators, which will begin at 7 pm PKT.
Two-time champions Islamabad will be in action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Peshawar Zalmi, with the evening match between arch-rivals Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars taking place between the two teams.
As a result of the 15 matches played in Karachi from 27 January to 7 February, the action will shift to the Gaddafi Stadium, where the remaining 15 league matches, as well as the four play-offs, will be played from 10 to 27 February.
The final will be held at the Pakistan Cricket Board’s headquarters for the first time since the 2017 final was held at the same location. The finals were held at National Stadium from 2018 to 2020, with the 2021 final taking place in Abu Dhabi, where Sultans defeated Zalmi by 47 runs. National Stadium hosted the finals from 2018 to 2020.
This year’s tournament is being organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board in such a way that each team will play an equal number of matches in Karachi and Lahore, as well as games under natural and artificial lighting.

Draft of the PSL for 2022
The Pakistan Cricket Board has decided that the PSL Draft 2022 will be held at the High-Performance Centre in Lahore on Sunday, December 12, with the event kicking off at 3 p.m. The PCB has also decided that the PSL Draft 2022 will be held at the High-Performance Centre in Lahore on Sunday, December 12.
Each team will enter the draught with a maximum of eight players who were present at the previous event in the series. Having completed the finalisation of player categories on November 30, the transfer and retention window has now been officially opened and will close on December 10.
The Lahore Qalandars will be the first team to be selected in the Platinum Category, followed by the Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators. In the Gold Category, Islamabad United will be the first team to be selected. The Lahore Qalandars will be the first team to be selected in the Diamond Category, followed by Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, and Multan Sultans. The Diamond Category is comprised of teams from Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The Lahore Qalandars will have the first pick in the Gold Category, the Peshawar Zalmi will have the first pick in the Silver Category, the Lahore Qalandars will have the first pick in the Emerging Category, and the Quetta Gladiators will have the first pick in the Supplementary Category. Renewals of categories for local players
Following a review and assessment process, the PCB has revised the categories for local players.
In the most significant changes, Pakistan wicketkeeper/batsman and Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan (previously Silver), Islamabad United’s Asif Ali (previously Gold), and Lahore Qalandars’ Haris Rauf (previously Diamond) have all been promoted to the Platinum Category from their previous positions.
Sohaib Maqsood of the Multan Sultans, who was named Player of the Season 6 of Pakistan Super League, and Haider Ali of the Peshawar Zalmi have been promoted from the Silver and Gold Categories, respectively, to the Diamond Category.
