Punjab Launched Women on Wheel Program to Empower Women

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Beenish Fatima started the “Women on Wheels” project at the Girls Guide House in Rawalpindi in keeping with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s objective to empower women.

CTO Fatima asked ladies to participate in scooter and motorbike driving courses run under this initiative during the launch. Interested volunteers register with the traffic police; the training will take place at the institute itself.

Regional Girls Guide Commissioner Dr. Saira Mufti greeted CTO Fatima during the ribbon-cutting event marking the inauguration. As a thank you gift, the girl guide also handed her a bouquet. About 25 females from the institute would gain from the training in the first phase.

The main goal of the “Women on Wheels” program, CTO Beenish Fatima underlined, is to empower women by arming them with the tools to drive boldly and autonomously.

She underlined how this program will enable girls to travel freely to school, college, university, or employment, so helping them to become self-reliant and so lessening the need for family support in transportation. The scheme also guarantees quick delivery of driving licenses for members.

Additionally encouraged to join the driving courses—for cars or motorcycles—women teachers from Rawalpindi and adjacent areas have been urged to register with the traffic police training school.

This project seeks to empower a wider spectrum of women all across the area.
